The 2008 season was our third year for the Canine Lacrosse Club. I would like to thank the players and parents for believing
in our program. The Dog Pound saw a huge growth in numbers this year. We started our program with one team in 2006 consisting
of 16 players to this year having over 90 total! Our emphasis is for each boy and girl to learn the game of lacrosse and
develop their physical and mental skills while having FUN! We currently support a U9 team, (2) U11 teams, (2) U13 teams, a
U15 team, a Junior High Girls Team, and a Junior Varsity Boys team. In the 2008 season we added the Girls Junior High team
and the Junior Varsity Boys team, and ultimately a Varsity/High School level team possibly in 2009. (We are currently communicating
with the West York Area School District regarding the feasibility of boys and girls Varsity and Junior Varisty lacrosse starting
in the spring of 2009. This past spring in the YCLA there was approximately 1,700 boys and girls participating from 1st grade
through 12th grade. At the youth level we competed with clubs in the following areas: Central, Dallastown, Eastern York,
Northern York, Red Lion, Spring Grove, South Western, Susquehannock, York Catholic, York Suburban, New Oxford, and South Eastern.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Dog Bowl (our home field).
